Why I am blogging

I really enjoy reading and following beauty bloggers, and once upon a time I enjoyed writing.I was actually writing a book, but through many years of depression and anxiety plus too much going on, I gave up on it. I am not even sure I will ever pick it up again.
As far as beauty goes, this is my story.
I was really into make up and beauty products as a teenager and young adult. I mean most girls are, right? Somewhere through the years I just kinda gave up on it. I believe that happened when I went into the military. While in uniform it has to be very natural looking and no crazy colors. So I quickly became a light shadow and mascara kind of girl.
Anyways, I never picked much makeup up after that. I had a new baby and there was no time for that. It became a special occasion kind of thing. Now here I am almost 30 and I don’t know how to do a smokey eye or what color foundation I need! Lame right?
My Best friend is obsessed with makeup, and the nice stuff too. She was visiting us and we decided to go to Ulta.I felt so out of my league walking into that store. That and I felt like I couldn’t afford a nail polish! She was having a blast, and knew exactly where to go, and what to buy. I almost had a heart attack when she spent over 200 dollars! How could anyone spend that on makeup?!? Now I get it.
I realized how good I felt when I would do my hair and makeup, and for me, that’s something I need to feel. I started buying more products and experimenting. I felt I was 12 again, trying eyeliner! I am getting more comfortable and realized that sometimes it is worth it to buy the nice stuff compared to the drug store brands!
I started subscribing to Ipsy and glossy box, which send you 4-5 products every month. This allows me to try new things and discover new brands.Now I am obsessed! It is getting out of hand how many boxes I want to subscribe to.I am going to use this blog as my journey rediscovering Beauty, and doing reviews! I really hope you will follow with me and even help me along the way! Please be patient with me as learn this whole blogging thing!
